VOICE

Voice came about when in desperation of the current political climate within the Middle East I felt I had to do something.  I am no politician, I have no power and nor would I want it, I am a simple being; politics is something I struggle to understand.

Photography is my way of communication it is my voice, so it was through this that I felt I could do something.  Voice is my expression, voicing my opinions about issues such as the Iraq war, the plight of the Palestinians and what we find shocking as an image anymore, to try to awaken people from political apathy and bring awareness.

It was not going to help just hearing my voice, what good is a small voice, so the exhibition became an invite to all people to immerse themselves in the space, think about the world and leave their own voices on scrolls of material around my images.

I often wonder where have all the voices gone, and here we have brought them together again using photography as a platform for dialogue.

Children have been involved being our ambassadors of the future, we hope we have planted a seed, and funds have been raised for Palestine Connect, a very worthy charity that provides safe houses and education to the children of the refugee camps.

Voice is now looking for its next home, I hope to take this work around the world and bring together as many voices as I can.  Sun Yoga has lit its torch, I am thinking about where it will go next, if you are interested in continuing its chain then please get in touch.
